Question Number 1

Will you put one of your trash bags out in front of my house on trash collection day? Homeowners that don’t put trash out are often homeowners that aren’t home. Burglars know this and they watch out for it. It will be easy for your neighbor to toss one of his bags in front of your home and it will help deter thieves.

Question Number 2

Can you move my car from the driveway, to the street, and back? When you’re car is moved throughout the week, burglars will naturally think that you’re home. Not only this, but having your neighbor start your car from time to time will save your battery. If you take your car with you, ask your neighbor to park one of his in your driveway. This will make it look like somebody is living at your house.

Question Number 3

Will you be my alarm system emergency contact? Some towns make the security company get in contact with the owner before they send help. Question Number 7

The last question should go out to all of your trusted neighbors in the neighborhood watch. Ask them if they will look over your home while you’re away. They can easily scan your home for broken windows and other signs of forced entry.
